Cat. Note/Ref.: In a letter to his parents dated 28 November 1984 RDB notes 'I intend giving you my Rita Angus drawing from 1953. The only other drawing like it is in the ACAG Auckland City Art Gallery Collection. A separate sheet records a value of $3000.00 although it is unclear if this is what he paid for it or an estimate value.
